Guest Wifi- Acceptable Use Policy

Newton Rigg Estate provides complimentary WiFi access to guests, visitors and customers. By using our WiFi service you agree to comply with this Acceptable Use Policy.

1. Permitted Use

Guest WiFi is provided for general internet access including:

  • Browsing the internet

  • Checking email

  • Business use

  • Social media

  • Streaming reasonable content

Usage must be lawful and responsible.

2. Prohibited Activities

Users must not use the WiFi network to:

  • Access illegal or unlawful content

  • Download or distribute copyrighted material without permission

  • Send spam or unsolicited communications

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to networks or systems

  • Engage in hacking, phishing or fraud

  • Distribute viruses or malware

  • Access offensive or harmful content

3. Network Security

Users must not attempt to:

  • Interfere with the network

  • Circumvent security controls

  • Access restricted systems

  • Monitor other users' traffic

Any suspicious activity may result in immediate disconnection.

4. Bandwidth Usage

To ensure fair access for all guests, Newton Rigg Estate may limit excessive bandwidth usage.

Activities such as large file sharing or high bandwidth consumption may be restricted.

5. Monitoring

For security and network management purposes we may log:

  • Connection times

  • Device identifiers

  • IP addresses

We do not monitor personal content unless required for legal or security reasons.

6. Liability

Newton Rigg Estate provides WiFi on an “as available” basis and does not guarantee:

  • Continuous service

  • Specific speeds

  • Compatibility with all devices

Users are responsible for securing their own devices when using public WiFi.

7. Suspension of Access

Newton Rigg Estate reserves the right to suspend or terminate WiFi access if this policy is breached.

 

8. Acceptance of Policy

By connecting to the Newton Rigg Estate WiFi network, you agree to comply with this Acceptable Use Policy.
